I had a really fucked up dream last night man. So basically it was like my school was a boarding school and in my dorm was me, Maya, and two 7th graders in my gym named Nelly and Mia. Anyway so Maya was like never in our dorm so it was just me Nelly and Mia and we were like laughing and hanging out and I kept like taking naps and waking up and taking naps and waking up in the dream and then the next day I was taking a shower and I found a bunch of squared all over me thy drew one on my right wrist, my left shoulder, and my right inner thigh. Anyway I was washing my face in the shower and it really hurt so I left the whole to go check th mirror and they had like cut a square onto my left cheek where like I knew if I pressed on it too hard it would literally fall off my face. So I asked this adult what happened idk him irl but he said that he told me what they were doing and I said I didn’t know what to do about it so I just went back to sleep. So then in the dream I cried and then as my dreams do it switched the plot.
Dreams can often blend elements of our waking experiences with deeper underlying emotions and subconscious thoughts. Let's break down the various elements of your dream to gather possible interpretations:
Boarding School Setting: A school environment, especially a boarding school where you live, can symbolize a place of learning and personal growth. It may suggest that you are going through a period in your life where you are learning more about yourself or facing challenges that are making you grow.
Familiar and Unfamiliar Characters: The presence of Maya, Nelly, and Mia in your dream, people you recognize from real life, might represent aspects of your relationships with them or aspects of yourself that you associate with them. The absence of Maya could symbolize feelings of loneliness or lack of support, while the presence of Nelly and Mia might point to companionship or aspects of your personality reflecting change because these two are likely not as close to you as Maya.
Repeating Naps/Wake Cycle: The cycle of napping and waking in the dream could symbolize a feeling of being stuck or unable to fully engage in a situation in real life. It might also indicate mental or emotional exhaustion, where you feel as though you are repeatedly "checking out" to escape reality.
Squares on the Body: The squares drawn and cut on your body might symbolize unwanted attention or actions done towards you. These could represent boundaries that feel like they are being invaded or lines being crossed in your personal life. Each area (wrist, shoulder, thigh, cheek) could represent different vulnerabilities or distractions in your life—physical (thigh), social (shoulder), communicative (cheek), and personal power/control (wrist).
Pain and Hurt in the Shower: Feeling pain while washing your face suggests vulnerability and might indicate cleansing or wanting to reveal the true self despite the pain. The cut on your cheek especially emphasizes visible self-image concerns or emotional wounds that you fear might become too exposed or real.
Interaction with an Unknown Adult: The unknown adult’s guidance that you ignored sounds like an inner voice of wisdom or authority you may be neglecting. It suggests an overlooked intuition or advice regarding a troubling situation you’re trying to ignore or avoid.
Crying and Plot Switch: Crying can symbolize releasing pent-up emotions or frustrations. Dream plot switching usually indicates how fast our minds process different realities, suggesting that even acknowledging fears or feelings momentarily can be overwhelming, leading to a need for change or avoidance.
In summary, your dream seems to reflect themes of vulnerability, boundaries, and internal conflict. You might be feeling pressures from social or personal environments, and there's possibly a need to address inner feelings or situations you may be avoiding in waking life. It could be helpful to take some time to consider any ongoing life situations where you feel restricted or misunderstood, and think about ways to communicate or confront these issues constructively.
